One should marry three times

Margaret Mead proposed (mentioned) having several marriages throughout our lives; with or without it having to be with the same person.

Mead suggests

  1. For young desire and adventure
  2. For child rearing
  3. For companionship in later life

Modern life cycle

Modern life put new and different strains on middle-aged adults. These changes led to more stress in general, and coupled with increased awereness of one’s own achievements and success in life it all culminated in the “midlife crisis” emerging.

The modern life cycle
